LLDPE

LLDPE

LLDPE is a flexible, durable thermoplastic known for its high tensile strength, excellent puncture resistance, and good environmental stress crack resistance. Compared to LDPE, LLDPE offers better impact strength and elongation properties while maintaining good flexibility. It is widely used in film extrusion applications and is compatible with most conventional polyethylene processing equipment.

Key Parameters:

  • Density: 0.915 – 0.930 g/cm³

  • Melt Flow Index (MFI / MI): 0.5 – 20 g/10min (grade dependent; common film grades: 0.5 – 2.0)

  • Tensile Strength (Yield): 8 – 15 MPa

  • Tensile Strength (Break): 15 – 35 MPa

  • Elongation at Break: 500 – 1000% (highly ductile)

  • Flexural Modulus: 250 – 450 MPa

  • Dart Drop Impact Strength: 100 – 800 g (film grade dependent)

  • Tear Strength (MD/TD): 50 – 200 kN/m (machine direction / transverse direction)

  • Vicat Softening Point: 90 – 110°C

  • Melting Point: 120 – 130°C

  • Brittleness Temperature: < -70°C (excellent low-temperature performance)

  • Water Absorption (24h): < 0.01% (negligible)

  • Processing Methods: Blown film extrusion, cast film extrusion, injection molding, rotomolding

  • Typical Applications: Stretch film (pallet wrap), heavy-duty shipping sacks, agricultural films (greenhouse, mulch), shrink film, industrial liners, food packaging films (bread bags, frozen food bags), trash can liners, flexible tubing, injection-molded lids and containers, rotomolded tanks
